I didn’t go straight into detail on how I would introduce the new security strategy I just explained what I would talk about within the new security strategy company wide.

I would introduce the new security strategy company wide by doing all of the following:

    Introduction
    Explain the scope
    Policy
    Responsibilities of Personnel
Specifications of the Badges (this may include records and accountability of identification badges, auditing, and etc)
    Protection and Disposition Procedures

I would draft up an email intended for distribution to all employees that explains the new policy in detail (reason for the policy, rules, enforcement, etc.)

As a follow-up, all employees would be expected to attend a 15 minute informational session that covers the new policy and would be required to sign an agreement stating that they have read, understand, and accept the new policy. The signed document would become part of their employee files. Non-signing would be grounds for termination of employment.

I would follow a similar path that the military already incorporates into its secure areas. Security badges with identification pictures, and would also have magnetic strips/Common access card(cac)chips built into them and place locks on secure areas that can only be accessed with said cards. Then once the measures were ready to be deployed begin training and issuing said access cards. As far as guest, there would be sign in logs and guest passes that would be given to all guests who would be escorted in all secure areas.

I would first start by writing up a document and amend the current security policy. In the admendment I would outline the full detail of what is required for all employees, why it was being implemented, training session for all current and future employees and a document that all current and future employees would have to sign. Also included in the admendment would be included what Discipline airy action for violation of the new policy and enforce it.

First, I would set up an internal site that would explian the new policy and the potential consequences of not following the policies. This site would require all employees to electronically sign an acknowledgement that they had read and understand the new policies, and agree to follow them.

Next, I would send an email to all employees notifying them of the site containing the new policy and that all employees must read and sign the acknowledgement.

Finally I would organize company wide meeting to further inform the employees of the new policy and allow employees to ask questions about the policy.

Faliure to sign the acknowledgement could result in dismissal from the company.

To introduce the new policy to employees, I would begin by posting an official policy document on the internal Sharepoint Security site I mentioned in my earlier post. I would then educate the leads and managers in all major departments and inform them of the policy which will be enacted. They will, in turn, spread the word to their personnel teams. I would follow-up with a company wide email explaining the policy in brief, and include a link to the Sharepoint Security site to direct them to for further reading. Finally, I would setup some type of a course in an LMS (Learning Management System) environment with questions about the policy which need to be answered, and then having each employee provide a digital signature that they have read, acknowledged, and passed the LMS course on the policy.

First I would send a company wide Email about the new security strategy with time and dates that it will take effect. There would also be memos and sent to all employees as well as signs posted throughout the building with information about the new changes. Finally I would provide managers of all departments with ID badges to pass out to everyone in their department on week prior to the effective date so that all employees could get use to wearing them.

Question 5…. Write a New Security Policy:

Question: You have been given the task to introduce a new security policy to your organization. The new policy requires all employees to wear identification badges. All visitors will be required to sign in and to wear visitor’s badges.

How would you introduce the new security strategy companywide?

Answer: I would have the companies employees informed of the new policy change and that there will be a security best practices/guidelines work shop detailing and dealing with the new policy change. The workshop would be arranged so as not interfere with the current security best practices/guidelines that they are required to go through every 6 months and would be added to the 6 month security best practices/guidelines refresher courses.

To start to introduce these new security measures there would need to be a base of knowledge to start from. So all the managers would have to attend meetings on how this was going to work and when it was going to take place. After ensuring the managers are informed flyers or bullitens would be posted around the office to ensure all employees know what/how/way this is happening. There would of course be days of taking the individuals pictures before the policy was actually put into place. There would have to be a draft with the rules and regulations of a badge holder. How to confront an individual not wearing a badge. Where to wear the badge. What happens if you lose the badge, etc.
